Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, is located in Southeast Cambodia. The city has more than 2 million inhabitants. It is very convenient to travel to various regions of Cambodia and several neighboring countries from Phnom Penh. There are many roads here that allow travellers to get many different places. But if you hope the speed is akin to highway speed, then you are likely to be disappointed. When you dive the car on the road slowly, you will see the cattle, dogs and chickens coming out for a walk. When the rainy season arrives, you will feel worried for the frogs that crawl in the middle of the road.

There are four famous rivers in Southeast Asia, upper Mekong River, Lancang-Mekong River, the Tonle Sap River, and Ba River all intersect here. The water is like four flared arms, so Phnom Penh is also known as “four arm bay.” In the evening, people are always dancing in the Riverside Plaza. A lot of foreigners will be attracted by this scene; sometimes somebody will join in and dance together. The lanterns of Phnom Penh at night are very beautiful, three or four story French buildings stand out in the glow of the setting sun, the arrow like pagoda under the rose colored sky is solemn and mysterious.

Walking on the streets of Phnom Penh, you can enjoy the exquisite royal buildings and envy the leisurely life of the local people. If you are fond of the food then you can’t miss the fragrant street food. As a tourism city that is rapidly developing, there are also some bad situations in Phnom Penh like traffic jams, the noise, unfriendly residents. Less law and order then most people are used to, these are the topics often discussed in Phnom Penh. Anyways, this Southeast Asian city with French flavor has gradually come out from the shadow of the Khmer Rouge and has begun to develop rapidly.
